Cross Peace Off Your List

From within the thick of utter chaos, serenity looks like an oasis in the desert we pray isn’t a mirage.

Yet when calm reigns for just a bit over too long, the itch for something more returns.

Unless we choose the life of a monk, how do we find that elusive peace so desperately sought while actively partaking in Life?


The seemingly two opposites are really not.


Sun ShimmerThere’s a natural inclination to associate serenity as a stillness, a resting spot, a respite from doings to catch our breath.

And reconnect.

In all our busyness we lose touch with our beingness, birthing that ache for time to be “me” again.


What if instead, peace is something we already are, not something to do on a list or figure out a way to have.

Serenity becomes a flow to tap into and dis cover wherever we go. Not to find, but allow.


Peace envy is wasted energy not well spent.

They don’t have what you want. You see in them what you know yourself to be.

Recognize the longing as a call to return within after spending too much time without.

You don’t have to stop, just reconnect. The observation can be enough to shift mountains or the craziest of times.


Be peace rather than do,

and watch what begins to ripple

outwards all around you.
